Do you have vet that you can call and just get general info over the phone? sometimes you can get good information about a common problem without a trip to the vet. I certainly hope this issue is simple and that your animal's vision is not in jeopardy. Please keep us posted either way.

Is there anyway you can get a good picture of it?

There's a lot of worry goes along with trying to help with problems like this over the net in case what you recommend actually ends up hurting the animal.

This can mean people become reluctant to speculate.

It could be something as simple as when he was shedding the old skin pulled out the soft section around the spectacle of the new skin. Or it could be a retained spectacle. Or it could be something else like a blockage or a dented eyecap or something else entirely.

If her eye has actually changed sizes that may definitely warrant a trip to the vet...

A problem with the eye could also indicate that the ball python in question might suffer from a RI. I've read something about it last week on web-site that is operated by a reptile vet.

since i moved out of my home i don't have my mother's digital camera anymore and i don't own one. i will try to get a photo with my gf's mobile(mine is worst) but i highly doubt it will be of anyhelp. i will try to borrow my mother's digicam when i go to my old house if problem doesnt go away but it seems a bit better when i started to wet it since its not crusty anymore but the white part is still there.

something worrying is that she is getting a pink belly so i think she's preparing to shed and she justed last week. so this could be something to do with bactera/vir. my uncle sugested me putting some water with salt on her eye as it will kill microbes but i dunno if it can hurt her, can it?

sometimes ...(I have read) that a tiny bit of stuck shed can be retained on the eye....almost looks like an eyelid. ?? I personally would call a vet...or take him to a vet. Maybe even talk to a breeder by you if possible. I would not put salt in with the water...its kind of like a saline solution...but I wouldnt do it. I dont know enough about stuff like that and therefore Im always extra careful not to mention a little paranoid. I think for the sake of feeling better...call the vet.

If your snake is about to shed then please, leave the eye alone. Messing with its eye will usually cause more harm then good. If you are honestly this concerned then you need to see a qualified VET. Don't just pour stuff in the snakes eye because you think it might help.

The little white edge is pretty common, I am fairly certain that it is just a little bit of stuck shed. Should go away with the next shed.

Make sure your humidity is around 60-70%. Mist the enclosure if you need too.

You say she shed last week but her belly is red? Something is not right. The ONLY thing I would put on the eye is bacitracin antibiotic gel. Not neosporin.

I use a bit of this if I ever have a snake with a retained eyecap. If both eyecaps came off in the shed and you are positive that there was not a second retained eyecap under it, then keep humidity high for now but make sure the bedding is clean and fresh. Clean and sanitize everything. The water bowl, wipe down the inside of the enclosure with disinfectant, etc..

After a complete tear down and wash and disinfect of everything, CALL A VET! Please find an exotics vet within reasonable distance if this problem does not look better within a couple days.

Red belly after a shed can mean infection or scale rot, burn from heat source or parasites.
