Re: do you need to feed crickets?

I rarely feed mine crickets, mostly because they're a hassle - and she doesn't seem to care about them anyway. She just gets large/medium mealworms, about 5-6 every other day... I put them in her calcium dish, so by the time she eats they're usually dusted pretty well. She's growing just fine, with only getting the crickets about 1-2x per month (if that).

It depends how long you want to keep them. You can pick up a can of the Flukers gutloader and liquid for under 10 bucks and the best part is the flukers quencher(Or something like that) is a gel almost like jello and the crickets can't drowned in it which they usually do in water.

Wait, I'm having an "Eats Shoots and Leaves" moment... did you mean "do you have to feed the crickets" or "do you have to feed crickets to the geckos?" Seems we each answered a different question, LOL.

You don't have to. I feed roaches.

But as far as gutload for crickets/roaches/whatever I tend to either buy gutload from Jason @ The Roach Guy or Pro Geckos.. I recommend either. I also supplement with green veggies, some fruits, and grains. For moisture I usually use water crystal or potato.

Have you guys tried these water pillows? http://www.petco.com/product/12128/Z...:referralID=NA
I've been using those with crickets for a while, and I really like them! Much less messy than other options, and they stay good forever (until you wet each one for use).

Hrm, no, I haven't tried those! I buy water crystal and potato in bulk and I feel it may be more economic for me to stick to those. Besides, I use small bowls/lids for the water crystal and they never make much of a mess. Thank you for the suggestion, though!

Re: do you need to feed crickets?

I think this thread should be in the feeders section. This questions can be confusing for some I know it got me for a minute lol. But I feed my crickets that monster gutload (think that what its called) I dont use the water gel cubes either cus the gutload powder gets stuck to them. I just use carrots.
