Cross breeding?
Hello I have been breeding rats fr a while now and i have bred some rats i got from a freind that are ginormous into my dumbos to get some size on them can i do that?

Yes, size is a genetic trait that can be passed down to offspring, as is litter size. For instance, if you have females that have particularly large litters, her daughters will also probably have large litters, or are at least more likely to.

Yes, you can definitely crossbreed. Hulihzack has it right.
I might recommend making hoppers for your food, you'll find that less is wasted when they have to work for it.

I breed african soft furs and i have found that not using a hopper saves me food. They would always empty the hopper and chew the food up now that im not using the hoppers i have been using 50% less food without then with the hoppers.

thank you it was a bit confusing when one of my particularly large females had 18 pinks but none of them got nearly as big

Hey i have been noticing that thees African soft furs have been quite popular, but wts the difference between them and mice of them and rats/

Picky balls tend to start eating again by using them. They dont get as big as your regular rats. They do get bigger than mice though. They grow slow, which can be a blessing or a curse. They don't smell as bad as mice or rats. They tend to have larger litter than both mice and rats.
