3000 US? That is even more expensive than compared to prices in Germany.
For my website pictures I took the pictures with lights shining from the top and erased the background in a photo editor. If you get it bright enough with lights from the top you could play with the contrast and brightness to erase the background without changing the color of your snake.
Set the flash emitter directly above the snake to reduce shadows. (Son of a photographer.) Also make sure it is on manual Macro and adjust that doohickey.
