Look closely. The guy in the picture is standing many feet behind the snake.. Classic skewed perspective causing the image to seem as if the snake is big. In reality, the snake is on a pole very close to the camera.
If it is longer than 5 or 6 ft I'd be surprised.
p.s. you can tell the guy is so far back because he is out of focus while the snake is in focus.
