Yeah definitely put the UTH like you have it in the 1st picture. That way his whole body can fit on the head pad if he wants, but he also has the choice to move far away from it if its too hot. The other way just kind of forces him to be on the warmn side.

UTH wouldn't stick so I duct taped it on with the Thermostat probe

Keep an eye on the humidity, as tubs hold humidity really well and you've got several humidity helpers going on in there.

Also, the duct tape will come loose after a while, when that happens buy a roll of foil tape. It works the best with UTHs.

My Humidity is only 59-61%
The cool temp was 72-73 so I added my old Lamp with the basking Sun Glo bulb over the cool side like 2 feet above the tub and now temps are constant 75.7* is that good?
The thermostat is keeping it at 91-93 degrees on the hot side

UPDATE!!!!!!!!

So today was feeding day for Naga, he has been in his new 6 qt tub since 12/9. Now it has been 5 days since then and the last refusal. So I bought a VERY small rat pinkie, it was a little bit bigger than a fuzzy mouse. I also thawed and heated the mouse under the heat lamp for a bit and placed BOTH of these guys in there so Naga could chose one or the other or both. I just want him to eat!!! So I take a look 40 min later and there is the f/t fuzzy haning out of this mouth. I was sooooo happy, then I look 15 min later to see what's good and to fix this water bowl cuz he flipped it over (PS side story: water bowl had humity in the 80's even with low water so I replaced it with a vitiman water top putting the humidity into the low 70's. Need to drill more holes in the sides) and I find the rat kind ofish constricted in his middle section and the mouse on the floor.......wtf is going on???? I don't touch him. I only go to change his water every day. Temps are where they need to be at all times only thing that has been off was the humidity has been in the high 70's and then the 80's today that is what the switch was for. I am just stumped here. Went to the smaller tub and everything. And this guy is still acting retarded............

No about 15 min after that I saw he had the mouse in his mouse (thinking it was already down opened the top to take it out. But all irrelevant.......

HE ATE THEM BOTH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Ate about 10-12 grams of food today. This means he is def taking F/T for me like his breeder. Now I need to upgrade him to rat pups or adult mice. He can take them!!

Thank you all for all the help he will be in his 6 qt for another month or so and will be upgrading to 15 qt soon.
