Since he has refused to eat tonight wiat 5-7 more days before you offer again. When you offer next time just open the cage and blow on the mouse lightly in his direction. If you notice his body breathing heavier then you know hes interested. Dangle the mouse for him to come out to it. If he takes it great. If not lay it down and leave it all night.

Leaving the dead feeder in the enclosure with him for a few more hours couldn't hurt. If he doesn't eat it then oh well, try again next week.

Don't keep poking in there though. Give him some space. Feeding is a very vulnerable period for snakes.

at his size pop him in a 6qt tub and cover it with a rag at night to give him peace. and leave the mouse in over night. I have some hatchlings not eating unless the rat is laid down and left over night. Leave him in the 6qt tub until hes too big for it then move him up to 15qt tub. babies take time to eat if not secure.

So like over night? For feedings? Or just all together?

You've only had him two weeks! Just give another week and offer again. If your husbandry is right (multiple hides of proper size, proper temps, proper humidity, proper enclosure size) then your snake may just not want to eat. Let it ride for another week and try again . If you keep shoving food in his face he will just keep being stressed.

Yea 2 weeks the Sat after Thanksgiving I got the little guy.

10-15 minutes is not enough time. Leave him be for at least 30 minutes. If the prey is dead you can leave it in much longer.

Oh ok, well damn I flushed that thing now. They have rat pinkies there as well. I read that they weigh around 9-11 grams. Could I just get that next time and just leave it in there?

Should the vines stay or go?? I like the way they look and I thought it would add to his concealing.

So my conclusions so far......
Don't touch for another week, let him be.
Scent cage like this time, but instead kill the mouse and drop him in here to be eaten during the night.

Put a LIVE mouse fuzzy in with him overnight, after leaving him completely alone for at least 3 full days. A fuzzy mouse can't hurt him, it will be less coordinated and unable to jump on him and scare him, and it smells and looks more like what he was started on.

Once he's eaten that, move up to a mouse hopper, after lights out--chance are, he'll snap it right up. If he does, then the following week, you use the live hopper again, but you stick around and watch.
Then you can try offering him a PK or FT mouse hopper on tongs again--grab it by the scruff of the neck, don't dangle it by the tail. That way it doesn't look taller than him.

Isn't he a little big for a fuzzy mouse? Also the place I go doesn't have mouse fuzzys they have hamster pinkies and fuzzies. Would a rat pinky be ok instead??
I've been to soooo many places looking for hooper and fuzzy mice but no dice this is the money one that I know of in Raleigh. And yea I just want him to eat something. Something is better than nothing to me.
So on Monday put the food in that would have been 5 days.

Your cage is way too big. Move him to a 6 qt tub for a few months until he settles in. I would put him in a proper size tub and leave him totally alone for a week. After a week put a mouse in with him, turn out the lights and don't even peek at him for an hour. I bet the mouse is gone when you check on him.
