Let me tell you I had the EXACT same problem in my 2001 S-10 that WAS a show truck.

It was a ground on the main fuse box that went into the fender.

I then had the same problem even after fixing the ground, and it was water that had gotten up into the fuse box due to running no inner fenders.

Never the less, hope they get it straightened out for ya.
