I'm also doing a triple recessive on the glow... not what you're doing. With a lot of luck will be 2012. Just hope the world doesn't end before I see its head pip lol!!!

Re: Has a Caramel Pied been produced yet??

I know Adam Wysocki produced some Double Het Caramel Pieds in 2008, but I don't know of anyone producing it yet. I would expect there will be a few shots at it next year.

As for Axanthic Pieds, I produced our Double Hets this year, so hopefully in 2 years, I will have a shot.

p.s. Good luck Sloans with the Triple Homo.

Re: Has a Caramel Pied been produced yet??

Aarondm, has the caramel female you are considering produced good eggs before? I still wonder if caramel problems (both kinking and the RUMORS of bad eggs from caramel females) could be addressed with nutrition. Caramel females might be a great buy with the right rat food high in some nutrient like vitamin C. But I don't have to worry about whether or not to buy female caramels, champagnes, or deserts because they are all out of my budget anyway.

Sloanreptiles, way to go! Let me know when you have possible triple het males available! I really like possible double het males and your side product normal looking males should only have a 1 in 27 chance of actually being normals.

Would really like it if I could find one with axanthic in there for a possible quadruple het. Problem is when people start breeding quadruple hets together there will only be 81:256 shot at producing the normal looking possible quadruple hets I should be able to afford. Each egg from a quadruple het pair will have more than a 2:3 chance of being at least one visible morph. Some people are afraid to try quadruple hets because of the 1 in 256 shot at the quadruple homozygous but I think they'll be great for the huge high morph clutch variety.

Re: Has a Caramel Pied been produced yet??

last year i bred a het pied male to a 50% het caramel female..... got 6 babbies being 1.5 and i kept 3 females with the marker. i bred her to the het pied because i didnt have a caramel male or het at the time she was going into ovulation so i figured its a long shot but but also fun. the 50% het caramel female is now on a breeder loan to chris gibson in phoenix to try to prove her out het caramel. i have called around and there has yet to be ne one to produce a caramel pied but im guessing this year there will be someone and it will prob be adam from 8 ball. i was gonna buy a double het caramel pied male from him but i dont really need a adult breeder right yet.... so my 50% het pied that are poss het caramel females are on the back burners till the mother proves out het or not.
