Also, I just wanted to let any Bank of America users that I have been unknowingly donating money through my ATM card (it's like a .05% interest or something) to HSUS. A year ago when I got the card I had no idea they were bad and picked the card because it had a wolf on it, and I LOVE wolves. I'm going to keep the card, black out the HSUS symbol and asked to get my donation switched over to forest preservation.
I was so clueless and I just realized it looking at my ATM card a little while ago!! >=(

Big Gunns knows the real reason you got that ATM card...Big Gunns has the exact same one. Big Gunns would like to know how you found that out though.

Big Gunns isn't "clueless" though, he just likes Wolves, and the other wildlife card was some purty yellow bird.

I wrote an e-mail to PetPAC about the issues at hand, asking if they will stand with us to defend the rights of reptile owners. It seems they are focused narrowly on dogs and cats, so I asked if they might expand their area of interest in light of HSUS's declaration of war on us.

This is exactly why if you do send money.....you send it directly to your local shelters. We have one in Green Valley that is a no kill shelter and they make their money on donations and a thrift store. We give all of our stuff to the store as opposed to selling it.

yea there is one of those in orland park, IL which also putdown quite a few animals that came from other rescues. i would urge everyone to rethink that "idea" and ask for a number of animals put down and how many are adopted out

we have delt with this place since we moved here 4 years ago. I have seen them take animals that are a MESS...and fix them. It is really quite amazing. This one dog had no use of his back legs due to some type of trama when it came in. He had a full hip replacement amongst many other things and now he has been adopted and doing well. Walking just fine. They really have proved out to be an outstanding organization. They have quarantine rooms...critcal care rooms...you name it. All run by Seniors in Green Valley which is a huge retirment place. They have taken animals that I think typical companies would put down and nursed them back.

Im impressed with them...and that is saying a lot. Not many places like that around. Not to mention you just about have to be bonded and have a 7 year background check to adopt for them...lol. They even have trainers come into your house (for free) if you are having problems with your adopted pet.

All in all...I just have to give kudos where it is due!!

HSUS is apparently very busy right now on the dog/cat front--attempting to get mandatory spay/neuter laws passed. I think we may find an ally in PetPAC, and it could be pretty mutually beneficial in the long run.
