You're just not as right as you could be. To me.
Definitely a thin line and an easy path to stray off of. No arguements there.

Ill continue the whole school/work thing Ive got going though, seems like the personal reward is greater for doing it the right way.

I dont care how much money i can get, a lie is a lie is a lie. Granted there are different forms of lies ( Wes, i remember a conversation a very long time ago....)

if you use that lie for personal gain negatively against another entity, it is WRONG.

Just cause i can sue someone for twenty million NEVER means im going to unless i am 100% JUSTIFIED in doing so.

IT IS NOT. The American way. THAT, my friend, is Utter and complete BS.

I grew up surrounded by a community of folks screwing the government out of welfare money, defrauding insurance by setting their own businesses on fire, staging car accidents, etc. All this while my parents drove a school bus and beat my ass for grades lower than 95. I harbor a tad bit of resentment, and wouldn't ever work the system over illegally. But the day the cards turn and I legitimately have a claim to something...you can bet your life Im for sale.
But is blaming someone else for your choice a legitimate claim? Im referring to the Mcdonalds & Coke comment. Those companies dont force people to buy their products, consumers make a choice to do so.

Not ever. For someone to sue a company over something like that is ridiculous. You gotta trust the judicial system to weed out the lawsuits such as those same as they did in the McDonald's case.

Whos talking about lying for personal gain? Im saying if you fall down and break your arm in a supermarket, youre justified.

If you find a bug, finger, small animal in your fries, youre justified.

If you get into a high speed car accident that was entirely your fault but your air bags dont deploy, youre justified.

Youre not justified to sue over a lie.

    Re: This is F'en reeeee****ulous!!!!!

the mcdonalds case wasn't a frivolous law suit. That coffee really was WAY too hot (hot enough for that woman to receive full thickness burns, those are 3rd degree burns and the worst kind of burns). It was between 180F and 190F.

This lawsuit.. i dont even understand. Why was the chimp not in his cage in the first place? If his owner was responsible he never would have been out of his cage like this.. and coaxing him back in? Yeah, i wanna hang around the business end of a tiger with a raw t-bone in my hand.

People forget about how dangerous large primates are because they "look" cute. If she was afraid of him she never should have been near him.

its another link in the chain of completely preventable attacks by captive undomesticated animals. the OWNERS need to take more responsibility.

    Re: This is F'en reeeee****ulous!!!!!

I have to say as a Canadian, that visiting the States always has a measure of culture shock for me. Americans are much more willing to sue for things that we in Canada would shrug off as a fluke. If I slip and fall in the supermarket, I giggle nervously, make sure there's nothing stuck to my pants, and hope no one I know saw me.

I think a major difference between how Canadian kids and American kids are raised is, Canadian kids are usually taught "If something bad happens to you, odds are it's your own dumb fault." You got hit by a car while jaywalking? Well, what were you doing in the middle of the road, genius?

Youre not justified to sue over a lie.
    And i Disagree. STRONGLY.

ive found hair in my food, does that justify me to sue a company for it? No!! Crap happens..... If i found lots of hairs in my food? Id go to the store owner and make sure that the people responsible for such an act, would be removed from their jobs. They obviously should not have the privilege of having a job. The store owner is NOT responsible for that kind of a move, unless, of course, he had a hand in it. and even then.... i would find other means to justify my response.

How. How are you justified to sue a company for a MISTAKE? OR your crappy balance if you tripped and fell and broke your arm? No wet floor signs? Why? Did someone make a mistake? were they JUST putting them out? Did they not even KNOW about it yet? Accidents happen and unless something was done PURPOSEFULLY to harm another human being, id NEVER consider it sue worthy. Even failing to fix an uneven sidewalk i wouldnt consider sue worthy. I should be watching where im going, and if i have issues walking, i should be responsible for my OWN ability to find a way to get the tasks i need done.

Im responsible for ME. noone else is.

If the airbags dont deploy, WHICH DOES HAPPEN and im pretty sure they even state it in Manuals that there is a percentage of error...( not 100% on that, but i honestly dont see why not...) in some vehicles, me knowing that this can sometimes happen does NOT justify me suing a company for something that was out of their control. I KNOW the risk of getting into my car EVERY DAY, if they dont deploy, Too bad for me. I should have thought about that. If needed, i should have had them tested.

Im sorry, im an honest person. You wont find me feeling justified in punishing some large company for a mistake that was not directly of their doing.

Now, if some guy shot me and injured me, on purpose? ( not by accident, read...) yeah. Id be suing his butt. Why? because he was DIRECTLY responsible for trying to cause me life threatening injury.

Point is. I wont sue for petty crap like that EVER. I DO NOT AGREE a person is "justified" in suing, for some petty thing like falling, or spilling coffee on their lap. its pathetic and should not be able to happen.
