Re: Hows this for a krazy question, is it possible to change barometric pressure?

As far as I know, you would need an air-tight chamber in order to pump air in or out. I would think that it would be impossible to maintain a constant pressure without suffocating the animals due to lack of air flow.

You may be able to introduce enough positive or negative pressure by either introducing air slightly faster than it can leave the container, or evacuating air slightly faster than it can enter the container (via a fan that can be flipped, for example), but I would think maintaining humidity would be tough, and I don't know that snakes appreciate a strong breeze.

I guess you could potentially control the pressure by hooking a progressive barostat (like a thermostat, but regulates pressure rather than temperature) to whatever is introducing the air, whether it be a fan or compressor or whatever.

Without spending big bucks, it would be noisy, expensive, inefficient, and potentially harmful to your snake. But it is definitely an interesting idea.
