So, assuming you breed your own feeders (euthanize them) and then freeze them...what do you do?
I want to know how to keep rodents from leaking. I've seen a little about pre-freezing, etc. Is a regular freezer enough for preserving rodents? I've seen stuff about flash freezing, but a household chest freezer won't do that.
Give me all you know feeder-people!![]()

I have five Corns and two BPs. I do raise my own rodents (both rats and mice), and I euthanize them on my own (with dry ice and a cooler). For freezing, I wrap them in a freezer storage bag (usually 1 gal. size), then place that in another freezer storage bag. I roll the bags closed to eliminate as much air as possible (because this causes freezer burn) and then place them in the door of my home freezer. This seems to work just fine for me. I'm not sure if larger operations would need something different, but just wanted to give my two cents worth.
