Took Everyones Advice

Ok so I took everyones advice and fed my Bp a small rat and wow I personally think it was too big ...she did eat it but afterwards it must have taken up close to half her body ....my question is now is that too big ? Will a snake (BP) eat something that is too big for it or No ?

The rat should be as thick as the thickest part of your snakes body. Follow that rule and you will be fine.

if you follow this you should be safe. sometimes its impressive what they can eat. i have 2 babies around 75 grams which eat small mice!

Agree. Usually the daimeter of the snake at the widest point or smaller. I usually go just smaller as i find they keep to a more consistant and regular feed schedule and dont get "backed up ".

Snakes CAN eat impressive prey, but as the size goes up, overfeeding and risk of regurgitation goes up.

Snakes throwing up is bad. They have extremely strong stomach acid, as you can guess since it takes care of hair and bones and teeth easily. It's hard for them to replenish it, and it's not good for the stomach acid to be outside of the mucus-coated lining of the stomach.

Of course, overfeeding leads to overweight snakes, and we all know how bad being overweight is.
