Also, depending on where you live, if you have high ambient humidity, you may need to get a fan to circulate the air in the tubs to keep the humidity down.
As for tub sizes, I have my yearling in a 32qt, my 2 y/o in a 41qt, and my 5 y/o in a 60qt. It basically has the same floor space as his 50gl tank. Just not the height. I've only had him in there for a couple of weeks so I'll see how it goes...

Ohhh. I think the ambient humidity is pretty low here idk. I have to spray my tank alot and the lid is covered in foil.

Set the tubs on the heat tape, plug into t-stat and wala.
I have been in-between for 2 years, lol, I understand in-between
The water could/would get on the heat tape, maybe under it, maybe in the connections, and then you have to let it dry, or blow dry it, or...it just seems a hassle is all
Locking tubs work great, I've been using them for 2 yrs and had no issues, except me forgetting to lock them lol.
34 qt tubs bottom and middle and 15 and 6 qt up top.

40 qt sterilite ultra locking tubs

Cool. I could deffinatley use small shelf unit but i would want to make my own rack with heat tape and stuff if i was to actually get a real rack. I might be able to use one of those shelf things if they have ones that can hold 41 qt tubs.

The ambient humidity in my area is pretty low(30-40), but my tubs hold 60% to 70% humidity all the time.
No spraying needed in tubs

Re: Got tubs!
use a lidless rack if you can.
Don,t use ALUMINIUM TAPE since it's CONDUCTIVE. It can be hazardous if there is a small hole in your heat tape connection.
Just use a staples. Like a T-50 or something similar. Some people also use thumbtack.
easier to remove when you want to build a new rack or just use the heat tape for something else.

I want a lidless rack but like i said i would build my own which i cant right now, and dont really need one, so i would just use any shelves that i can to hold the tubs at the moment
Aluminum tape to hold the UTH to the tub? What about holes in connections... Wouldnt the heat tape itself be conductive anyway, so a bit of aluminum tape wouldnt do much more?
If i had tape i would probably staple it but i have under tank heaters.

Re: Got tubs!
I think they meant taping the heat tape down to the surface, taping the heat tape to the tub isn't a good idea(IMO).
