^ He has already said they loosened the lock when he took the pic. *shrug*

Nice lock. Post some pics of the process!

Yup, you are right - except for the fact that I'm a girl, LOL. He was tightly locked when I interrupted, and let go by the time I grabbed the camera... they're still together, squished in the cave again, so I'll leave him there until tomorrow.

Re: I think he figured it out...

Here's a slightly better picture of the "lock" (thought this was blurry or I'd have posted it yesterday)... and two more of them just hanging out together. He looks SO tiny next to her!

See the blood spot? Is that from her? I remember seeing something about that in a breeding video, but can't remember what it's called... she hasn't eaten in weeks, so I know it's not from a mouse!

Yeah, you're probably right... that was my original plan, but I've had trouble finding a female pastel that "wows" me.

Re: I think he figured it out...

By the look of where his vent is.....I would say that is a "lock" but not a sucessful one. I might be mistaken but by the way the males hemipenes protrude his tale has to be facing the other way. I could be wrong though. He sure is trying though. Keep pairing them and he will sooner or later find the "right" way.

Re: I think he figured it out...

That first picture above looks more like he's just tail wrapping. He's under her vent, but his isn't near it. That doesn't mean he hasn't had a successful lock yet, but he's at least trying. My normal male had a lot of false locks before I caught him doing it right, lol. Here's one I just took of him and my more promising female this season. Between him and the pin this girl should be good to go, crossing my fingers she ovulates!

And a blurry one of the same girl with my pin (sadly the only morph remotely interested in breeding)
    My clan-
    1.2 Human Children, 1.0 Boyfriend

1.0 Pinstripe Ball Python, 0.1 Spider Ball Python
1.0 Sable Ball Python, 0.2 Feline Royalty
0.1 Hyperactive Siberian Husky, 3.9 Breeder Mice

Not quite a lock IMO, but they are trying.

If you look how far down the males tail is.....the vent would be past the female (by those pictures)
