    Re: Winter is Coming! (knitting)

To the OP: cute hats! My GF crochets, she feels the same way about her projects, she likes small things because they go faster. She's got an afghan rug she's been working on for a long time but seems to have lost interest because it's so darn big and takes so much darn time. She prefers small bags, hats, and scarves. She's planning on picking up knitting this year

I like little projects I can do with my hands, I'm actually kind of surprised I haven't picked it up myself. At the moment my "crafty" stuff has been doing homemade fishing lures. I can sit in front of the TV and catch up on House/Heroes/Weeds/True Blood, with my utility knife and a piece of wood. Later I go out fishing!

That's cool! I actually tried to pick up knitting, but couldn't even get the actual "knit" down. I think my needles are too big though. I'm tempted to try and pick it up again, but I don't want to run into the same problem!

You should try again! Once you get the hang of it it gets very easy and I find it theraputic.

I can teach you Robin... just do not tell anyone.

I used to do respite care at the hospital for an ASO... and I taught myself how to knit. You need something to do when listening to someone death rattle for 8-12 hours.

All my friends mocked me, till they realized those trendy little skull caps they were paying 40.0 for I was making for about 4.0...
