Yeah, you failed pretty hard. But you learned something and gave everyone a pretty good laugh and seem to be in fair humor about it yourself. So in the end it's all okay.
However if, like me, you wake up one day to little drops of blood on the newsprint you keep your snake on and find that your snake has 3 gashes under it's lower jaw and two of them are bleeding, yeah... then it's time to panic.

Once he has had 48 hours to digest his meal go see if you can find his belly button too - people often freak out when they find that one too and assume he has been cut.
