I have heard that in Georgia they are called highland moccisan(coppenhead) and lowland moccisan(Cottonmouth), but I have never heard the copperhead called a cottonmouth. Every state is different so I cant say you are wrong, but I could see you calling it a moccisan and that would fit, but cottonmouth just doesn't sound right for a copperhead.

Think ablout how many differant names people have for bluegills.We have bream,sunnies,shellcrackers and probably a few more that i forget right now
