Just Curious: Egg size?
I don't breed snakes and have never seen an actual Ball Python egg. I was reading some fabulous posts on the Advanced Husbandry Board that included some pics of adorable babies with the eggs. I was wondering if someone could just give me an estimate about big (wide/tall) your average Ball Python egg is?
Just curious as always

Re: Just Curious: Egg size?
They are slightly smaller in diameter than the female that laid them. Some can be longer, while others are closer to being a sphere, but they are generally the shape of a typical egg.

My second biggest female laid eggs over 3 inches long this year.

I think 4-6 is an average BP clutch.

I think all the eggs I have had are around that size, except for my latest clutch of 8 that were smaller than usual.

4-6 for a smaller female. I think 6-8 is closer to average, with plenty laying more than that. My smallest clutch was 6 including a slug.
