its not a coping mech. i have always been this way and it doesnt reduce my ability to survive at all, but when ppl freak out im calm and can react rationally.

You know that's one of the warning signs of a serial killer, right? Just saying.
And yes it most likely is a coping mechanism, you might not remember what it's from, you may have even been to young to remember where it was from, but that kind of behavior is a coping mechanism.

Something universally amazing and potentially destructive IS going to happen in Dec 2012. Thats scientific fact. But since this combo of things has never happened before in recorded history, there is no way to know if it will even be bad at all.. So like i said..
You cant worry about something that may never even be more than a cool display in the sky.. You definately cant let it make your decisions on life right now either..
If i was truly worried about that, i would not be buying the snakes i am lol
I know this will likely get split off, but there is not a single scientific fact to back up the 2012 conspiracy theory.
I have not read anything relating to the 2012 theory that is based on any fact besides that the mayans stopped their calender (one of over 50 of their calenders) there. The mayans don't attribute the end of their calender in the year 2012 to anything prophetic.
We live on earth, but earth is smaller than a speck of sand on all the beaches of the world and in the sea compared to the vastness that is the universe.
I am a skeptic, yes! I do not understand how anyone can believe that if we earthlings see something line up by chance with the light from other objects in space has any significance on our lives.
To take this argument and attribute it to some sort of universal phenomena sounds absolutely ludicrous to me. There are crazy things happening every single day everywhere out in the universe, the lining up of one little star of a little planetary system to another cluster of stars, from only one point of view in that little solar system.... yea, I just don't get it.

On the contrary... Most people are getting their info from conspiracy theory sites.. Once you see the actual scientific fact of what our solar system IS doing right now and the combination of things that will happen in dec 2012, you will see there is something amazing going to happen. Problem is.. Even though all these things have happened before in recordable history, they have never ALL happened at the same time. Which is why some people think it will be the "end".. Here is the link for the info. Make sure at the bottom you go to "part 2" as well.. It is very intresting scientifically proven information. Not this conspiacy stuff people are freaking out about... http://www.mondovista.com/endtime.html

Actually it IS a warning sign of a serial killer. Not saying you aren't, there are a lot of warning signs. Personally I have a lot of those warning signs, the only issue is I do panic under enough stress and I do feel strong emotions, many of the others I have, oh and I didn't wet the bed as a teenager.
Again death is a natural fear of humans, you have a learned behavior that makes it so you don't fear death, congratulations. I've little concern over when I will die, I don't see a reason to even think about it, but it doesn't stop the vast majority of humans from fearing it.

Anyone wanting to discuss the whole 2012 theory can start a new thread instead of being completely off topic in this one.
