    If this is your first BP, go with a visual morph or a normal. There are some really nice normals out there if you know where to look. Personally, I prefer normals to morphs. I like the natural colorings, especially if you find a nice dinker. (Which could also be associated in future breeding projects.)

    But anyways, I'd say go with a really nice pastel, a really nice normal, or another visual morph like a spider, ghost, mojave, etc. Once you get a year or two of experience with the species and you decide you'd be interested in breeding at that point and you think you'd like to get into the hets, then go for it.

    Personally, I don't have the patience to prove out possible hets. If I were to get into hets I'd go for the definite hets, but that's just me.
