This past Thursday night my 13yr old son had his prized female pastel (Blues) escape from her enclosure. This is a snake that he has been raising and is/was hoping to breed this upcoming fall. We have been tearing apart the house and have set up various "hot spots" in several rooms. One thing that is against us right now is that she actually ate the night before the escape, so she's not actively seeking food right now.

While I want my son to continue to have hope of finding her, I also want him to understand what the odds are that we are dealing with.

As much info as people would like to provide would be greatly appreciated as we are truly singing the "blues" .
Sorry to hear his prized possession escaped But luckily he will find her... I recently had an escape, and you can see the story (i started a thread on it), if you look at my last threads started.... But anyway, when your snake is lost, you feel like you have 0% chance of finding them... Thats how i felt when one of my adult bp's escaped... I went nuts looking for him for hours, tore up my entire room, and after i finally gave up, i found him in the one spot i wasnt expecting him to be lol.... Everyone that i know who has lost a snake has found them later on, wether it be within the next 15 min. or next 6 months.... So i would say there is 100% you'll find him... Another thing that helped me, was i prayed to St.Anthony, and i coincidently found my Bp about 5 minutes later....

Wasnt an escape but my friend had his Red Tail boa around his neck and was playing with his acoustic guitar and she kept staring at hole in the middle of the guitar so jokingly he pulled the strings aside and allowed her to satisfy her curiosity. Well long story short she actually started going in and he could get her fast enough so he had to let her go all the way in. He had to put the whole guitar in the cage and just let her come out on her own. She did come out a week later but only because she left a nice smelly present for him inside the guitar. Keep in mind this is a 7ft boa not a little baby lol.

I think its safe to say that the guitar shall forever be tainted lol.

    UPDATE***
Well, exactly 3 months and 5 days after Blues disappeared, we found her in our bathroom around the water pipes. I won't go into the details of finding her except to say it was dark in the bathroom, my husband was using the facilities, and he received quite the surprise!!!!
I had told my son that something was going on in the bathroom as the cats had been camped out in there for the previous 4 nights simply staring into the closet where the water heater is located...... Gotta trust those cats!!!!
Blues weighed 203gms when she "left", and 221gms when she "came back" she appears to have enjoyed hunting in our old rural house as she looks as though she had recently eaten as well.....

My hot water heater is in my laundry room on the bottom floor of my place, one of mine escaped and that's where I found her. She was not happy either! haha

    Congrats!
