it seems like they spend less time trying to escape once there in tubs vs glass tanks

He climbs up the glass, and hangs out in the plant.

The pictures you posted here show exactly what my BP was doing until I covered the bottom of the tank with crumpled up newspapers. Have since discovered that our BP becomes frazzled when exposed (we didn't even have the sides of the tank covered before), but with all that protection provided by balls of newspaper, he's a calm, contented BP now.

My bp isnt very active at night at all??? Whats up with that?? He is usually out before I wake up in the morning, and is making his way back into one of his hides by the time that I get home from work...I alway open the blinds in the morning so that he has a good sense of day/night....I am a noob and this is my first bp...Am I doing something wrong? Everyone else's bps are cruising at night...

It is only a bad thing if the snake is cruising during the day. My snakes are rarely out during the day or at night. Just depends on the snake really. Some are night cruisers, some aren't.

He comes out around 7:00 or so and soaks himself in his water for a bit, then he wraps himself on his tree for a while, then he may warm himself on top of his rock hide under the heat lamp...he doesnt move around constantly, but I was just curious if I had anything to be worried about. Dont want anything happening to my boy!!

Re: What Do Your BPs Do At Night?
I'm pretty sure mine just stare at me while I'm asleep and wonder why I roam all day... maybe I'm stressed. I think they also make plans on when the next "most inconvenient time" to poop and pee all over the place will be...

Mine cruise around the tubs, moving their hides and bowls and rearranging the newspaper.

mine will sit in his hide for long periods of time with about 6 inches of his head sticking out, its really funny to me for some reason. he usually roams around the cage nosing here and there. for the first month I had him he constantly was trying to find a way out. He might still be up to the same shenanigans, but I usually do not see him late at night.
