If you can get the levels right for each, then yes. But if you boa possible has IBD, then you are taking chances with a ball python in the same room. If you are sure it has no IBD it would be fine though.

I personally wouldn't even house them in the same room let alone the same rack. Boas can be carriers of IBD and never show any symptoms but the retro virus is 100% fatal in pythons. Not a good idea to house them in the same rack if you ask me.

I was wondering the same thing. I've been thinking about a Nicaraguan boa and was wondering about the proximity. Do you just keep them in separate rooms or basically opposte ends of the house and just shower and disinfect yourself before going from the boa room to the python room? I assume it is more practical to take care of the BP's first and then the boas...

I would keep them in separate rooms if I could. It is my understanding that all boa's can be carriers of IBD. I have seen first hand how IBD will affect a python but the boa that infected the python show no symptoms at all. I would disinfect with Nolvasan or dilute bleach solution and never handle boas before handling pythons.

I have my boas in a seperate room than my pythons for that reason. Whenever I do anything with the snakes I work with my ball pythons first and then sanitize my hands and work with my boas last.
