If you are interested in the Red Axanthic mutation, I would recommend purchasing a het red axanthic male to pair with your normal female. Het red males are inexpensive and you would be able to visually identify the offspring from the het to normal paring.

You would then have a pair of het red axanthics that you could breed together to make full Red Axanthics. the line/inbreeding for this end goal would be considered relatively safe as the original parents were unrelated. This is generally how every mutation has been reproduced from original wild caught mutations.
