    Holding down the fort?

So i have a hatchling BP, had him almost 2 weeks. What concerns me is he is always on his cool side hide and has his head about halfway sticking out. Almost as if he is on 'guard'. Is this a normal or typical behavior

Also, he is always staying in his cool side hide, i have yet to see him go to his warm side. Temp on the cool side is 80-85. Warm is 90-94.

Any suggestions? Or is this perfectly normal behavior?

Perfectly normal. A hiding BP is a happy BP. Might be hungry if he keeps coming out, or just might like hanging out that way.

My girl hanging out in her cool side when she still lived in a tank (pardon the blurry shot)

I had the same experience with my Bp when I first got him. However, when I started handling him and released him into the warm side, he stayed there. Maybe your snake needs to be introduced to the warm side !

HaHa! Nice, I got a true killer!!

I've thought of trying to coax him into the warm hide, but didnt was hoping he would figure it out himself. Was hoping i didnt have to force the issue. Im gonna give it a try though! Thanks!

Hope he like the warm one just as much!

Mine does this too. Occasionally when I check in on her, she'll have her head peeping out, just chillin like that. She hasn't made any appearances lately due to being in shed. Boo

I realeased him to the Dark Side.. I mean warm side. He went in, hung out for a minute, then crawled back to the cool side (checking out everythingn along the way cautiously )

Guess he just likes it cooler

Lol if you photoshop a soldier helmet on him, it looks like he is a tank general, guiding his tank.
