Taming a mean girl!
Well as some of you might know I just got in 4 breeder females that I ordered from Florida. I met up with him in NY to pick them up, and brought them home. I removed them from there pillow cases and all seemed in good health, so I handled them for a few minutes each and put them back. I set there tubs up and put them in there new homes. A few days go by and I notice once spilled the water dish all over the place, so I opened it to change it and she starts huffing real loud, and starts lunging at me lol! They all seemed fine and now two of them actually seem to be pretty pissed about something. I'd like them all to be well mannered, is there a way you deal with agressive adult girls? This is my first mean one, and boy is she tuned up!

Right now they are stressed from being moved and you just need to let them get to know there environment for about a week. after that try to start handling them and they should have calmed down a little bit.

My guess is if they are "breeder girls", they haven't really been socialized and held much, plus they are stressed to top it off. Try some frequent handling after a week to settle in, about 10-15 every second day, and you can move to everyday after a month to, but judge how the snakes are reacting.
Cheers!

Re: Taming a mean girl!
Yea, you gotta let them acclimate to their surroundings. My pastel was super aggressive the first day. He was striking at the glass over and over if I even got close to the glass. Now Ive had him for a little over 3 weeks and hes just a lil puppy dog (to quote BHB lol). Very docile and doesnt get bothered by like anything I do. He is head shy and all like you would expect, but even with that, he was letting me touch his head yesterday. Im tryin to get him used to it by petting him a little bit starting at this head and down his like whole body.
Just let him get comfortable with you and handle him once he is to make him less aggressive.

Re: Taming a mean girl!
yeah I figured they were just kinda kept in racks there whole lives and didn't come out much. It was weird how they were nice out of the bag but once I introduced them to there new home and let them chill for a few days they got pissed haha. I never got bit by a big one either, just 800 gram male so I'm very jumpy when they try to bite me, its quite hilarious. Its like I know its not going to hurt but it still shocks the hell out of me every time! Hopefully they'll calm down, but I tell you what, it deffinately makes things more interesting lol.
