Family day in the Park...reptiles and all:)

Last weekend our local park had family day. With the town's permission a group of us brought some reptiles out and set up for the public to have a positive experience with them. This was set up by my friend Shawn and included myself, Bob Sloane, J&D Reptiles among others. Shawn, thanks for setting it up and I'm glad the town allowed us!
Bob's daughter, Tanya in the cutest pic I've ever taken. This little girl LOVES her snakes!

My girl, Brandi did great with the multitude of snakes, including my corn

Coastal Carpet owned by Jeremy at J&D Reptiles. I love this snake!

    Jesse with that same Coastal.

Tanya again with Spider from Sloane Serpents.

Everyone loved Fantasy, the albino Burm. Kids flocked to her.

    Brandi and Fantasy.

My friend Rick with one of my bp's.

Super cool Red Tegu. I liked this guy.

It turned out to be a great educational day. There were tons of other animals, but I was too caught up in it to remember to take pics.

It's funny how most people are so terrified of snakes. But when you actually have them out and about most are "quick" to warm up to them. Well, except for my grandma, and my mom.

That's my Red!!! My wife and 2 of our kids were there with a Cuban Rock Iguana, Savannah Monitor, Dumeril's Boa, BP, and a few other critters. Me and my other son had to go camping with the Cub Scouts in 85% humidity (it was OK as long as you didn't move!). I wish could have been there and met you Walt!! Maybe next meeting.

Here are a few more pics including our daughter who got her face painted black. http://www.nera-forum.com/viewtopic....t=565&start=21

Would have been great to meet you too. It was definitely fun. I'm terrible with names, and I couldn't remember who brought the herps with legs The Cuban was really cool looking, and the Dums was a real sweetheart from what I could tell.

nice pics and what a great idea. The little girl is adorable the way she is hugging the bp's.

    side rant:
Of course, where was the media to cover this positive event for the rest of the world to see that snakes are not the evil creature always depicted.
