A cheap one can be bought at lowe's for 25 bucks but if you read the back it says the gun can be off by as much as 5 degrees C, thats 9 degrees F! If you go ahead and get a quality one (i paid 70) you can get one that is accurate to within 2 degrees F. I'm not saying you cant get a good one cheaper, just make sure you check the specs
