Keeping a cool hide cool + distilled water?

Hi guys I got a question for a problem I kinda didn't even think about. Now I bought a 30-40g UTH for my 20g because it can get really cold during the winters here in Connecticut, but I forgot how hot it can get during our summers too lol.
Today was a little over 90 degrees outside and about 87-90 roomtemp inside. This causes my would-be cool side to not be so cool anymore lol. On hot days like this the ambient inside my tank is 88-90 throughout the entire tank so i'm worried about my future BP not being able to cool off during times like these. So I am just wondering what you guys do when you have days like this? Or do anything at all? I'm not sure what to do.

Also is distilled water ok to give a BP to drink? I bought some today thinking it would be good because it doesn't have the impurities like tap-water does that can harm your snake but I realized later that it wouldn't have the natural minerals that are actually good for you. Do any of you guys use distilled water?

oh yeah, one more side question ^_^' lol. How often do BP urinate on average? I Got a repti-carpet to use as a liner and was going to put some of at eco-earth stuff as substrate but as I was putting the carpet in I actually thought it looked really good on its own. I can't offer any insight on the temperature problem but from my own (albeit limited) experience, the "urination rate" varies from snake to snake. My normal, Jakie, only seems to pee in conjunction with a poo - which he does once a month, twice rarely. The pin, however, loves to see me work and pees / poos 1-2 times a week.

So far as the water goes, I switch it up fairly often - if I have a bottle of distilled / "purified" in my room, I'll dump it in their bowls after the morning cleaning. If I don't, they get tap water. I haven't noticed any negative / positive side effects to either. Purely my own experience, though.

I've used frozen water bottles in my milksnakes cage to help keep temperatures down. My apartment was getting over 95 degrees last summer and it seemed to be helpful to keep temperatures down. I was worried that it would be bad to keep the snake in such close proximity to the cold temperatures, but it never seemed to be a problem with me.

As far as water, I use tap water for both of my snakes.

Tap water is fine to use as long as it doesn't have too much chlorine. If it does, let an open container of it sit for a day or so and the chlorine naturally evaporates.

ambient temps of 90* will not harm the snake unless it is constantly that temperature. So a few days of that won't hurt.

Tap water is just fine to use. No need for distilled or bottled.

I would ditch the repticarpet. When a bp pees they soak the whole bottom of the enclosure. Reusable substrates don't work well for this reason. It will be near impossible to get the smell out.

what about repticarpet and substrate on top? im using that to keep my sccurite wires tucked under it so she cant get to them..?

Use a dab of hot glue to secure the probe instead. Trust me, repti carpet is a stink factory.

its not the probe..its the bunch of wire thats so LONG that really BUGS me
