Re: How long would a Dumeril's get at 2 years of age?

Rat crawlers are kinda small for a 3 foot boa. Most boas can eat those at a few months of age. I remember you had trouble getting her to eat at first but I would definitely try to up the prey size

Re: How long would a Dumeril's get at 2 years of age?

The small rats seem a bit too large for her, even though I know she can take it down. From seeing my BP eat (who is a lot thicker than she is) a small rat, it seems like if Storm ate a small rat she would burst lol. Though, she did eat a rather large rat crawler that seemed like a small rat, and she took it down like nothing. Left a large lump in her tummy, with her in a fairly great mood for eating that large meal. The rat crawlers seem like a good size for her right now though, since she is slimmer than my female BP who is a total fatty. She is slimmer though because she does grow to be a pretty good size, so I understand that. I could try out small rats, but if after I feed her one and it seems too big for her, I'll go back to rat crawlers.

I have seen 7 footers before at shows and whatnot. And not overwieght as if they were powerfed. Although I do not know how old they were.

Okay i feed my boa asmall rats and he is about 2'10" almost three feet. His sister on the other hand is maybe 3'4" and on mediums it leaves a good bulge but there growing at a pretty good rate cause i feed every two weeks so a big bulge is a good bulge and you should try and up her food i agree.

I've never seen one that big myself. I have some younger ones and the person I got them from had breeders that were right around the 5 foot mark. I know a few other people with Dums and none of them are any bigger then that. I don't doubt that there are larger ones out there, but I think they are more the exception then the rule.
