Sorry to hear she died, even though she wasn't your snake.

That is so sad. I hope this isnt a stupid question but do you think the eggs would be salvagable if you had a vet remove them?
If it were my snake Id feel a little better if her babies made it.

Those eggs are more than likely long dead.

In the future you can try using a large bore needle and draining the eggs. It was probably too late for that female no matter what you did though. I have never had much luck taking snakes to the vet even though I do have a pretty good exotics vet. You more than likely would have ended up spending a ton of money and still losing the snake anyway.

Make sure you do it before the eggs go that long. They calcify fairly quickly.

Re: eggbound snake please help
I had that happen earlier this year for my first time... A nice Pastel female bred to a Pastel Ivory! She started nesting and then went back into shed again... I thought that was weird but didnt think much of it... Then she dropped one slug and had what looked like 2 big lumps of maybe 3 eggs apeice...
She had 2 giant eggs surgically removed maybe a month and a half after she should have dropped them. She is doing fine, but I was getting pretty bummed out when she looked so uncomfortable! Now she just has a bunch of stitches!
