Amen. But aside from our sometimes overzealous legislators, this is an awesome place to live... and people generally mind their own business, so I doubt it will become a problem. They really only care about the retailers, and I hope they wouldn't bother with a small hobbyist like myself. I don't even breed yet!

But really?? A Ball Python is considered a dangerous animal???? I knew San Franciscans could be a little wimpy, but that's going overboard.

its ironic as liberal as s.f. is, you can't have a ball python. guess they believe in freedom in certain areas over others.

Some people mistake left-wing politics with liberal legislation... two very different things, and usually they do NOT go together. In fact, it's more often the opposite, since "liberals" tend to be overzealous in protecting the masses. I'm a raging liberal myself, but more Libertarian in my beliefs - so I prefer less government intrusion, especially when the offending behavior doesn't hurt anyone. Anyway, that's probably a discussion for the Quarantine Room.

Re: San Francisco laws re. Boas/Pythons

Btw, does anyone know how to go about getting these laws changed? I was just reading through the guidelines, and they really need to be re-evaluated... the section relating to Pythons/Boas is from 1978, and probably hasn't been challenged since then. I was only 2 years old at the time, LOLOL. While San Francisco can be a little over-regulated, the local government is also very receptive to change. Any tips on starting this process??
