My brother seen the little girl while he was leaving a friends house and snatched her up. He knew I had a couple snakes and asked me about it. I just told him to research her. I know nothing about them.

So he did. And know she is doing well.

Does anyone else out there have one or have had one?

I've kept a few in the past for about a week at a time and then set them free where I caught them. I like them and they'll tear up some crickets.

Wild-caught, if not treated...I would be concerned about introducing parasites into the rest of my collection.

Good thing it's at my Mom's and not at my Dad's where my snakes are

Yet, I could understand them being transferred through clothing or what not. But I don't believe it will happen. Plus it has no visible parasites.

One specimen doesn't have to eat or sleep in the feces of an 'infected' specimen in order to transmit parasites (internal/external) or bacteria infections...snakes OR lizards.

Much of the transmission can be done by the keeper and poor husbandry techniques.

I know I would never knowingly buy anything from a breeder who introduces WC animals into his collection without quarantining the WC animal first.

Quarantining an animal can save your collection. I have heard stories of individuals losing many animals from an unknown epidemic after introducing a WC animal to their collection without treating/quarantining it first.

Now the OP said the skink is in another home away from his other animals. That is fine.

But it may be a good idea to familiarize yourself with quarantining animals.
It goes a lot farther than just sleeping and eating feces.
