Re: New music?
New music, eh.
I don't know if anyone's heard of Billy Talent here, but they're a Canadian band from my city. They've just recently released a new album on July 14th or 15th, I believe. I really don't know why, but after some careful listening to it, I have concluded I just do not like it nearly as much as I did their previous two albums. :/ I really don't mean to bash and be all "OMFG U SUCK WTH IS THIS" but this album just honestly didn't appeal to me very much.
Alexisonfire has always been one of my favourite bands and they've just also released an album. I have yet to give this album a full investigation (lawls) but I'm not really looking too hopeful on this one either. I love Dallas Green's side project, City and Colour, though.
One of my favourite bands of all time, the Lawrence Arms, are apparently recording an EP at the moment. Words can not describe how excited I am for this. This band means a lot to me.
Look like the innocent flower,
But be the serpent under it.

I'm liking that Beats Antique stuff. I just wish there were some vocals with it. Instrumentals are great for ambient music while doing something else, but I find that I have trouble listening to anything without vocals for any extended period of time.

Yea vocals would be nice but every now and then I like to zone out to something like this. Like you said when doing something else; I usually listen while reading or at work.
Another pretty cool band that is also instrumental and worth checking out..."The Mercury Program"

Re: New music?
anything and everything by gao hong. Last time I saw her perform, it was her "Asia Fusion" collaboration with northern and southern Indian musicians, a japanese drummer, an American percussionist.. and another chinese instrumentalist?
