That's good, I'm glad he's fine.
But listen to folks here--if you bought him as a pastel, you got ripped off. He is definitely--as in, no question about it whatsoever--not a pastel.
His eyes are dark. Pastels have light eyes--greenish. Always.
His head is black/dark brown. Pastels have light heads. Always.
Pastels have a jungle body pattern.
He appears to be what is known as a 'reduced pattern' normal. Not a bad snake, and reduced pattern can be bred for and is in high demand, though I don't think it's been shown to be a specific gene.
Here is a picture of a darker pastel hatchling:
Although the eye is shadowed in this photo so you cannot tell that it is green--trust me, it is. You can clearly see how the top of the head is very light, and the body pattern is 'jungle'--aberrant and irregular.
Here is another pastel female, a yearling--again, you can see the large faded area on top of the head, and you can see that the eye is olive green--you can distinguish the pupil from the rest of the eye.
