Question I am going to the Daytona show: buy now, there, or aftr?

I'll be going to the Daytona show on Sunday (possibly Saturday depeming on school) and am looking to get a male pinstripe or a male butter/lesser. Would I tend to find a better price at the show or before by looking online? Or if I wait til the show and don't see anything I like for the price I like just look for one online after?

I've never been to the Daytona show so not sure if it's a great buyers market there or not. I always kinda prefer to see the snake in person and chat with the dealer some and all that so I'm leaning towards the show. But if it's know for having higher than avererage prices I don't mind buying online. I can usually find something local to avoid shipping.

Re: I am going to the Daytona show: buy now, there, or aftr?

Most reputable breeders are not going to change to much in price a week prior to a show? Not sure, I would go to the show and see the animal in person anytime I could, again with reputable breeders and people here on bpnet I would trust their judgement as well.

    Brian at BHB
    Justin K.
Adam at 8ball etc etc etc are just a few that i would say just pick one out and send....Wait for the show is what I would do, never know what you will find

The thing most people forget about Daytona is that it isn't a garage sale don't expect to go and find table after table Lesser's for 200.00. Prices stay around the same. Take the max amount your willing to spend and look for an animal you'll be happy with. Many breeders will do the back and forth with you.. So do be scared to make an offer.

Oh yeah, I've bought 4 snakes from shows and always bartered down the price somewhat or had another animal thrown in cheap (3 big females and a baby female pastel so far).

Re: I am going to the Daytona show: buy now, there, or aftr?

One thing to remember is that even though bartering is a good thing for the buyer, it can and often has caused unjust fluxes in the market. Not many people look to buy these ball python morphs because they want them as pets. Most people honestly are eventually going to breed them and hopefully make a little if not a lot of money off them.
When a vendor has a particular snake on a table at a show that is marked at 500 and you barter it down to lets say 350 that is a good deal for you, or is it. Now what happens in all actuality is that from this point forward you as well as anyone that happened to witness this transaction thinks that this particular morph is only actually worth 350. By getting a "good deal" on your snake you potentially hurt the market and in the big picture of things your own investment because you will never be able to sell the babies for what you paid for its parent.
I personally respect the hard work and effort put in to making these morphs by most of the breeders out their and as a general rule will willing pay the asking or true market price for their animal. I do not want to get into a huge discussion about the love of animals and not for the money tirade here.
As far as your original question, I have not been to Daytona, but I do not that every name in the business as well as 100's no one knows will be vendors their. I would wait and look around at the show before I purchased anything and see what the show has to offer. You never know, you might find an animal that you just have to have instead of the pinstripe or the lesser. Todd
