Poor pooch! What is he going to do all day with no lil' friends to lick?

I'm sure he'll find something to occupy his time like protecting the house, playing with the kids and Bella the Lab and trying to sort out who gets what spot on the couch.

That and following me around because apparently he considers it part of his daily duties to escort me to the bathroom, the kitchen, the computer room, etc. It's rather nice of him even if I do occasionally turn too quickly and almost fall over him.

Well he's home from the vet and doing just fine. Other than a bit tired out he's not acting different at all. We'll keep Bella away from him for a few days just to give him a chance to heal up. She's got such a high energy play drive and he needs a break from that right now.

Ready for a nap on the couch with his squeeky toy....

Now the next order of business is to get some weight on this dog. I don't like my dogs to be fat but he's underweight for his build.

Glad to hear you're having such a great experience with it. What sort of dog do you have if you don't mind me asking.
I'm not entirely sure what type of dog she is. I got her from the shelter because someone who was evicted from their apartment left her there when they left. The shelter said she was a chow and red rottweiler cross although I'm leaning more towards chow and golden retriever. I started a thread way back in the fall with pictures of her. I've had great luck with feeding raw. It is a pain sometimes especially when traveling but her coat is softer and shinier and she absolutely loves her food.

Aww! Good to hear he is home and doing well. He looks so sleepy...and I can almost see the *sigh* over his head. ^_^

Darn I can't find that thread to see her pictures. I'm still at the point of educating myself about the benefits of a raw diet for both of our dogs and learning about bone, meat, organ meat ratios and so forth. It looks interesting and might be something we try and see how it goes. Marrok is underweight and a very poor kibble eater so it may be that raw will work better for him and get some good weight on him.

Yep he's a bit sleepy for sure. Sleepy or not though, he had to do his check the whole house routine before he would fully settle in. It's just his way and no way would he listen to me encouraging him to lay down till he made sure his home was secure. He's such a trooper.

    Re: Awww Poor Pitiful Marrok

Awww thanks Dale. He's a lovely dog and we're so happy that things worked out so that we got to give him a home when he needed one.

Him and Bella have become just the best of buddies too. She really needed another dog to play with and she's even starting to pick up on his nicer manners and copying them. Bella is hyper but she's not dumb. She sees Marrok getting pats and praises for being calm and she's already figuring out she's missing out on that if she bounces all over everyone constantly.

They are both unhappy with me right now though as I'm keeping them apart or Bella on lead till the fella gets a chance to heal up and his stitches get taken out.
