I am not 100% sure but I think doing the temp drop would make the snake go off feed for the breeding season. If your snake is not up to weight, do not drop the temps.

I don't think ball pythons go through brumation. That is more of a colubrid thing. Sometimes a night drop gets them in the mood though.

Thats what I was thinking but I was unsure of it so i wasnt going to say anything, im glad I wasnt the only one caught unaware of this.

I am not going to breed her until she is proper size. I just thought you need to put the snake through a cycle before she gets ready to breed. I am not going to breed her until she is proper size. Sorry for the mis understanding. My question was when she is ready to breed how will it effect my other snakes if i drop the temps. Does she need to go in a seperate tank or can my other snakes deal with the temp drops.

I don't think a lot of the breeders on here put their BPs through brumation.

Some breeders drop temps, and some do not. Since you have other snakes in the rack--just don't drop the temps. Do it all by manipulating the light cycle, instead.
BPs are pretty in-tune with the seasons, no matter what you do. They'll breed when it's fall/winter, and they'll lay eggs in the spring--late spring this year, even though I started mine in October. As long as there's natural light through the windows, or artificial lights on a proper timing cycle, the temperatures aren't as important.

Ball pythons do not go through brumation. They are from africa. Brumation is when the temps are so low that the snake goes into hibernation. This is more of a cornsnake colubrid phenomena.

Now, some people do put their ball pythons through a slight temp drop (like 4* or so). This is just so that they experience a change and it triggers the urge to breed. It is not brumation.
