Do you have any options besides Petco? I go there for feeders when desperate, but it's not my first choice. At least with the one near me, they don't have actual "feeders," just pet mice/rats - which cost more and are usually the wrong sizes. I ended up having to buy SEVEN mice one time (since they didn't have any appropriate-sized rats), and it cost me over $20. Try to find an independent pet store or reptile specialist, if possible... otherwise Petco will do, or you can go F/T and order them in bulk online.

Oh, a hatchling BP should be getting 1 fuzzy/hopper mouse every 5-7 days... I only feed once a week, even with the young'uns. And you should be able to upgrade rather soon (2-3 feedings?), to either adult mice or rat crawlers.

    Re: My BP escaped

P.S. If you don't already have one, get yourself a digital (kitchen) scale! It makes things a lot easier, as far as keeping track of their growth and prey size. The general rule-of-thumb is to give them 10-15% of their weight in food... so for my 2000g adult, she needs to eat around 200-300g at each feeding.

Thank you so much, and I do have an analytical balance and quite a few triple beams. I teach 7th grade Science. I will make use of them. I want to get bulk online, but I bought some from Petco for the meantime.
