The mouse should be 10 - 15% of the snakes weight. You can eye it, and get the pray just slightly smaller than your snakes widest point. I don't think it's as accurate as just weighing. I bought a food scale off ebay for like $15, and free shipping. It really doesn't get much better than that

You can also buy a scale, its a lot easier than the naked eye (due to human error)...you should feed your snake 10% of its weight...so for example if your snake weighs in 170 grams, you should find a 17 gram mouse for your snake...
Hope that helps...
i know the mouse should be the thickest part of the snake, not that any stores sells scale in stores i would have to buy 1 online if i buy a scale i highly doubt they gonna believe im using it for my snake. I purchase my mice in petstores i cant weigh the mouse before i buy it so i just got to go wit eye. Thanks for the explaination.

Re: About feeding 2 mouses
Some of my mousers get 3-4 adult mice per feeding. I just drop in one at a time, then make rounds every 15-20 minutes, dropping in another mouse until they stop eating or until they have had all that I want to offer.

I've actually brought my scale to the pet store, and they let me weigh the mice/rats before purchasing them... the hardest part was getting them to sit still, since I feed live. As for buying a scale, do you really care what they think it's for? There is nothing illegal about getting a scale, no matter what the purpose - so let them think what they want, LOL. For the record, though, MANY people buy digital scales (especially the larger ones) for weighing food and jewelry.

Haha, who's "they"? Parents? Anyways... I ordered my scale online and use it for my snakes and sometimes my feeders. Here is a link...

And by the way... Walmart does sell a digital cooking scale for about $30 that is similar to the one I linked you. I haven't tried it but it probably would work.

Re: About feeding 2 mouses
I bought my scale at target, but it wasnt even for the BP, I'm a health nut and go to the gym, and I like to measure how many ounces im getting to know the amount of carbs, and protein im getting, a little off topic
Now i use it to weight my snake, and mice... I do use a separate bowl for them...
I don't bring the scale to the petshop I just guess which size is good, when I get home I weight them then... the first 2 times, the mice were a little too small, but due to weighing them, i kinda know how big i need to get them by just looking at them, now I'm only off by 1 gram here and there...but i think thats okay...
Nonetheless, a scale is definitely recommended
