    Re: First clutch is hatching

Two were out when I woke up this morning, and the other four made it out throughout the day. I didn't see a single alien head until the fourth snake was out. Most of them have nice reduced patterns with few to no alien heads. The babies from this pairing look exactly like I hoped they would, so I couldn't be happier.

    Here's the entire clutch

    Just the spiders

Great looking Spiders Jake and amazing odds......Wow cypress mulch. I was wondering what that was in the pictures. The eggs held up great
    Gotta try that next year.....Thanks

It worked great. Here is the original thread where I talk about the mulch and other substrates. http://ball-pythons.net/forums/showthread.php?t=91924

    Re: First clutch is hatching

I sexed and separated this clutch today. I ended up with 2.3 spiders and 0.1 normal. Woot! There are two that are exceptionally nice and reduced. I wasn't really paying attention when I was separating them, but I'm hoping one of those two is a male, to replace my current breeder male spider. I still don't know if I want to hold back any female spiders, since they are dominant, and I already have a male spider and a male bee. I wasn't planning on it, but I might have to hold one of these sweet girls back. Once they shed I'll post some more pictures. Thanks again for all the comments.

I know, right! Earlier in the season people seemed to be hitting amazing odds, and Mike Cavanaugh said that if we took all the hatchlings from this season, it would even out to the odds that were to be expected. I agreed, but it hasn't seemed to slow down at all, and now I'm not so sure.

Unless people are just not posting clutches that don't hit great odds, I would say the members from this site definitely had the odds god on our sides this season. I wish there was a way to figure out exactly how lucky the members here got with their clutch odds this season. Maybe I'll start a thread so we can try and figure it out.
