    next snake???

    I've only had my bp for about a month and already want another(imagine that!) I'm just trying to decide what to get. I realy like mojos they are my favorite morph but...I realy love red tails. I'm not very experienced and can't decide what to do. I like the boas I think they are stunning but don't know if I'm ready for one. How much harder are they for husbandry?

    No one can make the decision but you.
    Look up some of their caresheets here to see which is a good level of committment for you.
    If price is a factor, see which species fit your range.
    Or, if looks are key, google up some pictures of each.

    Boas do get larger than bp's and require larger enclosures, so take that in consideration with your current space.

    Re: next snake???

    size and price arn't an issue for me. The only problem I can forsee is my fiance...don't know if she will be ok with a boa b/c of size. But I realy like the looks of them, and from what I've read their personality isn't bad. Just can't decide what to go for. The rtb would be cheaper than the mojo but enclosure wise...it might even out.

    I've always been into bloods (blood pythons), but have never had them. Quite beautiful looking pythons. But, they require more care and a larger space than bp's.

    I love the looks of the bloods and space isn't a problem. My concern with them is their temperment. I want a snake that I can get out and handle without having to worry alot about getting bit. I'm not afraid of being biten but don't want it to be a normal thing...lol

    Bigger = bitier.
    Not always the case.
    Still though, it's more shock than anything else.

    Been bitten before? A ball's bite feels like a paper cut. And it's probably more scared than you are.

    If you're afraid of being bitten, you're better off not keeping snakes, lol. It's just part of the hobby, it happens.

    I wish I had the space to get another red tail, they're beautiful snakes. For now I'll just stick to balls. I do plan on getting a Dumeril's Boa sometime soon, I absolutely love their appearance!

    Re: next snake???

    I love bloods ever since Ive seen them in real life but my wife and I agreed that we're fine just seeing pics of them and holding them at shows. Now as for a Sunglow RTB, we decided we MUST have one as part of our display animals when we are done breeding.
