    Cameras that take good photos?

I love taking pictures of my reptiles. Just love it. However, my camera sucks. I can't get too close to the snake, or even zoom in close, or else the picture blurs. What are some good digital cameras that take good photos? I really need a good camera that takes awesome photos, I'm tired of blurs.

I have to say that i've been impressed with shots taken with Nikons and Canons. Any extra loot I have right now has to go towards animals and racks, so no camera budget for me. I'm gonna be point and shoot for a while I think. Using a Canon Powershot A470 right now.

The more expensive cameras from nikon, cannon, and pentax are great.

However if you're looking to spend under $300, I'd go with fuji.

I got my g/f a nikon p80 for christmas last year on sale for $400, I think they are cheaper now. It will take some really good pics but it's a little advanced, you just have to read the manual pretty good.

You need to specify a budget 1st. Camera's range in price from $30 to $30,000.

I also don't want one that will cost me a lot. I just want a cheap digital camera that takes good pictures. I don't need an expensive camera that takes like amazing pictures I just want a cam that can't take some pretty decent pictures without a blur when I do a close up on my snakes. Thanks!

Re: Cameras that take good photos?

I can tell you that I owned a Fuji Finpix F10 and was increadiably happy with it for a point and shoot camera. It took all of the pics piror to last friday.

I upgraded to a Nikon CoolPix it takes great pix and can be used for some fairly good shots of the animals and for around 150.00 you get the Nikon Nikor lens and a 10.2 mp camera..in something smaller than the size of an Iphone

My main photography set up is in the 500+ range of cam. Its a Nikon D60 with a 18-55mm -vr lens. So far I've been really impressed. With a little photography knowledge it makes taking great pics a breeze.

Re: Cameras that take good photos?

I had been using a Canon Power Shot A95 for years now.I have been wanting a new cam for years also lol.
I was just so tired of taking pics of my collection and having the snakes look NOTHING like they looked in person.

With that said I broke down and purchased the Nikon D60 with the 18-55VR and the 55-200VR lenses and can say without a doubt I'm completely impressed with it and have only really used the auto setting.
The picture quality is amazing IMHO.

Now I can't wait to get the 105mm AF VR Micro Nikkor

I now LOVE taking pictures of EVERYTHING LOL
