What should a clutch thread look like?

Would it work to just link two threads together? If so, you could have one "blog style" thread where the breeder can post pictures and updates and another thread for comments. Or something along those lines.

I think a better solution would be to have a sub-forum where the OP can edit his posts. That way he can reserve 5 posts or so (not sure what the limit is on post length around here) and just edit them as needed to make updates. Then people can still reply in the same thread, and all the clutch related info will still be right at the beginning.

THAT is a great idea. I've seen other forums where this sort of things is done, reserving the first several posts for information that will come later, and it works really well.

I hate searching 50+ pages of comments just to find the few pictures the OP posted. I would post a new thread for everything exciting. Maybe a thread for all the eggs-like you did for your lockups, and a thread for each clutch hatching. Then new threads to update us if you do post-shed pictures.

I'd agree this is the most ideal situation. Otherwise the subforum idea sounds great as well.

It seems most of the time post shed pics get put up (I'd love to see them anyway) and they could be in the main pic forums...but the actual clutch, ovulation, breeding etc photos could be in a locked subforum???

Why not a thread solely for the breeder to post his clutches with another thread to show the comments? I know I like reading the comments when I post pics, but it does get tough to go through all the pages to find one pic.

If we were able to have our own blog section, that may also increase membership subscriptions ( which I plan to buy next week )

You already can get your own subforum by buying a membership.
