I do not doubt but like I told you it is all about first impression and you have no idea how much that first impression can and will make people refrain from even trying to contact you and/or get to know you. (trust me on that one)

People often based their entire reasoning and or next move based on the first impression, and like I told you when I look at your logo (which I really like) the first thing that comes to mind is the movie Godfather and than mobster.

No one is saying that your logo means that you are affiliated with the mafia. It means that FIRST impressions go a long way. If you want to portray yourself as a professional in this industry, the last logo that you want is one that, like it or not, has the stereotype of being "mob".

You only have one chance to draw people in. If they pass for the reasons that we said, then they never get the chance to get to know you, your animals and what you have to offer.

What we're sharing with you is constructive feedback, from a business point of view. That's all. One other thing that you may find challenging, will be your age. No one can enter a legal contract with a minor, so if anything goes wrong with a sale with you, they have no recourse at all.

That said, we have other members here that started at your age when I met them, have conducted themselves professionally, even more so than many adults here. But that's always going to be a though in people's minds when deciding if they are going to enter into a purchase with you (until you're 18 and legally an adult).

Yea, and i thank you for the constructive feedback.. If people dont get a good first impression, that will be my loss... In my opinion (IM NOT SAYING YOUR OPINION IS WRONG! Because you make an excellent point of my logo giving a bad first impression), but in my opinion the quality of a persons logo, and the professional setup of their website, logo, etc... Is what makes a good first impression.. Again, In My opinion... And thats what i try to do with my logos, make them high quality and professionally setup.. When i see Bad quality, and poorly setup sites, thats the only thing that will turn me off of a company.. I dont care what the name is...

I didn't comment in your other thread but if I owned the "Godfather" logo I'd still be asking you to cease using this logo because it is too much of a likeness to the original.

If you want people to see a quality first impression you need to come up with a UNIQUE (look up the definition if you have to) logo design that isn't "stolen" from someone else.

The problem is that your "concept" is too still similar and could fall under copywright infringement. Just because you swapped out a few different things does not change the overall concept. Your ideas still originated from the godfather and its very obvious still.

My suggestions would be to read up on copyright infringement; if you are really serious about using this artwork try to find the appropriate channels to ask permission from the owners of the copyright.

Re-drawing does not avoid copyright infringement

It is important to understand that you do not avoid copyright infringement merely by re-drawing an existing copyright work, even if you introduce artistic additions or embellishments of your own. For example, if you redraw the map illustrations depicted in the novel The Lord of the Rings you infringe their copyright just as certainly as if you had photocopied them. You will also infringe the copyright in a movie if you copy creative elements or characters from the story in a manner similar to the way in which those elements or characters are presented on screen.

Ya, but it also says "ideas are not copyrighted"... I think im just going to use me in the suit, with the black and white, and change the name, this way it doesnt look like its copied off of the godfather... And im going to use different font... Any ideas of what i could use for a cool name.. I can never think of anything...

It took me a year to come up with a name, and even the name I have now evolved from what I had originally chosen as a name (Diamond Morphs). Joanna (frankykeno) was helping me with the 1and1 web template and said "hey, I called your collection "the nest" what do you think?" From there, I went to Robin's Nest Reptiles.

Ran it by some people who have been in the industry for some time to see which business name they thought was more marketable (Adam at 8Ball, Kara at NERD were two I talked to about it) and my business became Robin's Nest Reptiles.

From there, I came up with the concept of what I wanted for the logo and searched for someone to commission to design my logo for me (with me telling them my vision for it) and someone else to design my site.

From the point I registered my domain to the time I had a final product was probably another year. I took my time, didn't rush it, and I'm thrilled with both my business name, my logo and my site.

    Re: Is This Better?

Sorry man - to me, it's still a blatant rip off something that was (is) huge. People will immediately make the connection between you and the Godfather series. That isn't what you want.

What you did with the snakes and everything is clever - but my advice would be to be clever and creative without spinning off something that already exists. Be original.

You don't HAVE to have a real business name NOW, do you? What's the rush? Take your time and let it come to you.
