My new BP cage in the works!

Here it is. Halfway there!

I CANNOT take credit for the frame. A local man named David ***** (not sure he would want his name up here) built it along with the other frame in my house. He's making another one for me as we speak.

This is how it was delivered last Saturday.



After two coats of stain (probably one more to go.)



The inside is going to be shower board (sealed) on all the walls but the ceiling which will be painted white.

I'm going to do a bulb fixture at the back left side of each cage.

The glass doors are being made as we speak.

Yes, David's stuff is amazing. Next time I talk to him, I'll ask him about permission.

He does this stuff on the side in his spare time, so I don't think he wants/can take a heavy load of builds. His time frame is usually 3-4 weeks for a cage.

Very nice work there! Looks great with the staining. I only have one suggestion, though - do not use actual bulb lamps in there unless you either mount them outside on the top or have a solid covering for them. In snake cages, it's better to use LED or fluorescent lighting.

Good luck getting everything finished up. Gonna look a treat!

I'm using them as the heat source. I may shield a bit of it to try to concentrate the heat though.

Got another (stupid?!) advise, after I ran into this one just three days ago: Make sure you can easily access the light bulb in case it needs replaced. - Did I ever bust my knuckles!

To give a better idea, this is the Monitor cage.

It's going to be pretty well identical, with the exception of much smaller bulbs, and they'll be mounted in the rear corners.

that looks really good,but as was mentioned put a wire cage around the bulb,so the snake doesnt burm himself on it

The heat source? Why not use a UTH pad or flexwatt tape? They work a ton better than lamps for BPs and don't sap humidity either.

Installation is easy - you just have to place the tape/pad on the wooden floor, maybe with a few holes drilled underneath for ventilation, and then lay tile or vinyl flooring over it.

I was worried about a few things with the UTH.
