Re: Do you name your snakes?

My 4 year old named both of mine. Jake the snake was a given because I'm a fan of the wrestler, and David's seen him MANY times on youtube bringing out that GORGEOUS Burmese!

I have NO idea where he came up with IRA, but that's what he named our corn.

Yes, of course! I love them, and they are pets. We always refer to them by their names unless we are talking about them to someone new, then we say, "our het pied" or whatever.

I could see not naming all my snakes if I bred with intent to sell.. But all my snakes I have ever picked up always got named!

Yep, they all have names except the hatchlings that I intend to sell.

Yes, that is a great idea! I name my snakes in Spanish, so if I ever get as many as I want to, I'm going to have a really hard time remembering them, as I am not yet fluent.

I think it's just for the ease of remembering whose who and what I should do with them.
Yes, I have two snakes that have names (Little Dude and Cali), but all of the others are 08PastelFemale#1...

Re: Do you name your snakes?

of course! Kyros is my 2 year old normal and Calypso is my 11 month old spider-sib. I can't imagine not naming my snakes. I told my boyfriend about people here having 40+ and all he did was sigh and say" well you would have a hay day naming all of them wouldn't you.. my answer? YOU BET! Kyros means Little nobleman(Prince) and it suits my little buddy perfectly. Calypso doesn't own up to her name though... It means " the goddess who hides in a cave"... She is NEVER in her hideboxs. She is always on top of them. Temps are perfect she just likes being in plain sight. She is my adventurous one. Kyros is the one who is shy, while Cali is always ready for something new. I love my babies so much!

Re: Do you name your snakes?

All of my reptiles seem to get names. I don't force it though so some go for quite a while before they get them. I never assume that other people will remember which of my geckos or snakes is which though, so I generally describe them as well... The names are more for me I guess.

I'm at just over 60 and all have names. Some have nicknames as well (Charlotte is my Barbie Doll, Flea is my Teddybear, Joker is Sweetie, Pink is Darling, etc.).
