Re: BP's Outside?
when I worked at a pet store there was a girl that came in all the time that would buy a baby ball then proceed to carry it around everywhere. sometimes it would be around her neck sometimes in her bra. anyway she never could get it to eat so it eventualy died. well she bought another. we told her exactly how to keep it and not to carry it around with her. well she said she wouldn't long story short she did, it died, and we refused to sell her another. last time I seen her she bought a third from another pet store and it was well on its way to being dead as well.

Well, I wouldn't take my baby into town with me (although I have wanted to for the shock factor). But Cleopatra did wear bp's as jewelry around her neck and wrists.

Re: BP's Outside?
No one can exactly prove that Cleopatra carried some around with her, could have easily been jewelry or preserved "specimens" or the like.
But I feel it would also put a lot of stress on the snake, because it would be constantly experiencing a 'new' environment every time you are walking around with it, etc.

Re: BP's Outside?
I do it all the time... or did before pregnancy and having a baby.
I've never had a snake have ill effects from it.
Our problems came from buying a sick Craigslist snake and not quarantining- oops!
But yeah for YEARS I have taken my favorite pet snake around.
I agree not to scare people or take the snake to some place where this could be a big issue. It's cruel to frighten people purposely with snakes.
